Zero Distance to the Customer, Create Sustainable Value --Siemens IA/DT/BT Media Tour 2010 Kicks off from Region South

On July 12th, 2010, Siemens IA/DT/BT Media Tour 2010 (hereinafter referred as Media Tour) started from first stop Region South (RS). From July 13th to 15th, under the guide of sales, nine professional journalists visited Sinopec Guangzhou, CSSC Guangzhou Longxue Shipbuilding Co., Ltd, the New Guangzhou Railway Station and China Resources Cement (Pingnan) Limited, located in Guangxi, Guigang.

 

Media Tour is going to cover five sales regions. At each stop, Siemens invites 10 trade media to visit customers’ factories. Journalists will give in-depth report on Siemens products, systems and solutions helping customers save energy, increase productivity and enhance flexibility.

 

Senior management from each of those customers introduced the company’s business. More importantly, they presented applications of Siemens solution and products and were companions guiding the journalists to visit production lines. During the visit, customers had detailed introduction on products and manufactuing, helping journalists better understand the way Siemens improve efficiency, lower energy consumption and enhance flexibility.

Early morning of July 13th, the media visited one of the largest petrochemical companies in Southern China, Sinopec Guangzhou. The customer gave a good welcome to the journalists, afterwards as constant companion visited the one million tons reforming unit and generator room of self-provided power plant.

 

Li Dechu, deputy chief engineer of Sinopec Guangzhou made a welcome speech, introducing the company’s latest applications of Siemens’ products in the past decade. And then Xia Weizhong, Regional GM of Industry Product and System Sales (IPSS) of SLC and Benjamin Schroeder, General Manager of IA/DT/BT MarCom, respectively introduced business of RS and marketing activities in China.

The journalists learnt that the customer purchased a large amount of Siemens electrical products, including high-voltage power distribution cabinet, low-voltage power distribution cabinet, low-voltage power distribution components, high-voltage converter, low-voltage converter, control systems like SIS, PLC, S7-400, S7-300, S7-200 etc., and many kinds of instrumentations.

In terms of electrical appliances, Sinopec Guangzhou has equipped over 110 sets of 8PT low voltage power distribution cabinet to one-million ton reforming unit. The products produced by SFAE, have been running stably with little maintenance cost. Moreover, a 440KW Siemens ROBICON Medium-Voltage converter, has been running well from 2004; compared to similar products, ROBICON’s over 98% converting efficiency and lower noise (less than 75db) have been highly praised by engineers.

More than half of PLCs applied to green projects of Sinopec Guangzhou are provided by Siemens. In its polypropylene (II) SIS system reconstruction in 2008, Siemens had active communication with Sinopec Guangzhou instrumentation and control centre and fully prepared. Under time mediaure, Siemens had completed the installation and system switch in one week. Now, the system is in perfect operating conditions. That really set a good example for Siemens SIS system in petrochemical industry.

In the afternoon and the following days, journalists visited CSSC Guangzhou Longxue Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., New Guangzhou Railway Station and China Resources Cement (Pingnan) Co., Ltd.. The automation drives and low voltage products of Siemens have successfully helped customers achieve stable and reliable control process, fast responding and energy efficiency. For the time being, business of IA/DT/BT in RS covers Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Hainan, Hong Kong etc., in various industries like energy resource, chemical, manufacture, infrastructure etc.

 

Three-day’s meeting and visit brought win-win results between media and Siemens as well as Siemens and customers. Sales and the customer are given an opportunity to show their benefits from the co-operation to the media. At the meantime, the media can learn from the experience how Siemens products and solutions help industrial users increase productivity, enhance flexibility and improve efficiency.
