ABB, the world leading power and automation group, will be introducing and demonstrating its new Automatic Robotic Workstation, Solar Tracking System, Solar Inverter, and Low Voltage products and solutions at the 6th International Photovoltaic Power Generation Conference & Exhibition (SNEC 2012) on May 16th-18th, 2012.
ABB’s Automatic Robotic Workstation – the PECVD Wafer Handling System will again make its grand show at the expo. The workstation is designed and customized according to the actual demands requested by Chinese PV manufacturers, which brings forth greater user-friendliness. The 14 square meters and narrow-layout PVDF and PECVD-integrated automatic processing system has made its installation more flexible than ever. This system performs highly productivity. One robotic workstation is capable of pairing up with 2 units of four-tube PECVD devices, which helps in relieving human labor from the highly repetitive works. More importantly, the workstation is equipped with the patented clampers to prevent damages on the coated surface and guarantee a lower broken rate.
ABB’s standardized solar tracking module and PVS300 string inverters, PVS800 central solar inverters will also be introduced in the Expo. The solar tracking system adopts ABB’s PLC-controlled ABB Inverter in order to achieve high precision tracking control to maximizing the exposure on the solar module. According to the statistics, power generated by solar power plant that uses solar trajectory tracking system is about 30% more efficient than the plants that use stationary systems.
Based the specific requirements in solar power generation, ABB will also introduce a series of low voltage products and solutions such as CM series insulated monitor relay, GAF DC contactors, and OTDC isolated switch and micro circuit breakers.
GAF contactors are used on the DC end of a solar inverter, and are the master components used in achieving DC circuit isolation and closure. It has a compact and yet highly efficient structure. Its interrupter cover has undergone a special process to achieve exceptional interrupter capability. It is also the only modular contactor that can be used in 1000V DC switches and with rapid growth of applications in solar PV power plants.
OTDC isolator has a rated working voltage up to 1200VDC, and its modular structure and equal height-width design ratio has made the size even smaller. When compared with other OT switches of the same grade, the wear-and-tear rate is almost 50% lower. It can be used in solar module panels, combiner box, and inverter DC isolations.
SNEC is one of the renowned international PV exhibitions, and it has also become the most influential international, specialized, and significant PV event in China and Asia. With about 150,000m2 of exhibition area and more than 1800 exhibitors attending the event, the expo will draw more than 180,000 professionals to participate in the conference.
