Shanghai, May5, 2015---The first 2015 Tongji-HARTING Technology Innovation Contest unveiling Ceremony was held at JirenBuiding of Tongji University Jiading Campus. Professor. Chu Zhigang, Secretary of Party Committee, Professor. Lu Zhenggang, Deputy Dean of Tongji University Institute of Rail Transit and Mr. Edgar-Peter Duening, Managing Director of HARTING Electric, hostedthe ceremony with media guest, HARTING staff and Tongji students. In early 2014, Tongji and HARTING signedMoU (Memorandum of Understanding) of the cooperation to research and develop innovative and advanced railway part of HARTING Scholarship, this contest was organized by Tongji University Institute of Rail Transit (IRT) and HARTING, aims at inspiring students’ creativity and innovation as well as establishing a platform to integrate theory into practice. The contest opens to all students in Tongji University. HARTING provides full support in respect of technology and samples.
Prof. Lu introduced this contest bases on “Technology Innovation”. Mr. Edgar-Peter Duening also emphasized that the contest establishes a great platform for the students to implement theory into practice. HARTING ishonoured to be the first cooperating enterprise of Tongji University Institute of Rail Transit (IRT)for such taking up the scholarship or award, we hope the students are committed to take new challenges and gear up themselves to be technology innovators, which in accordance with one of the HARTING vision –“We want to shape the future with technologies for PEOPLE”.
Research and development is one of HARTING’s strengths. HARTING is currently intensifying our ongoing R&D activities to develop new technologies and new products and solutions which enhance our portfolio. HARTING products are leading-edge and extremely reliable. HARTING has the necessary expertise in industrial production and open, future-oriented solutions for new applications. HARTING’s greatest strength is its willingness to embrace new ideas combined with its expertise in transforming ideas into reality.
In order to provide a better understanding of HARTING products and to provide a commercial platform for students, HARTING invited 8 volunteers from Tongji to attend booth duty on the 14th electronica Shanghai exhibition. The volunteers actively participatedthe 3 days fair. After a briefing on company background and product, the volunteers were able to independently explain the running RFID demo to visitors, which implies students have concrete knowledge in rail and transportation and are able to pick-up HARTING’s product basic operation theory quickly.
During the exhibition, Ms. Cindy Fung (HARTING Asia HR Manager), Ms. Ada Fung (HARTING Asia Marketing Communications Manager) and Ms. Diana Wang (HARTING China HR Manager) gave warm greetings to volunteers and expressed our emphasis in innovation activities. The participation of fair booth duty inspired students and enabled their further understanding of contest requirement. The volunteers expressed that they will introduce HARTING products to those students who couldn’t come to the booth. We are looking forward to their active participation in the contest, and believe they will deliver innovative proposal in coming September.
